Writing Challenge #2 (Day 5)

Imagine you’re unable to leave a room for the next 7 days. Chronicle each of the days, using a maximum of 100 words for each day.

Day 5

I frantically redo the mission with an even more limited/ time. My brain goes into overdrive — sifting through my current/ intel and typing in a new code, a script that/ will be accepted by the system. My shaking hands are/ the effect of both fatigue and caffeine overdose.

The phone/ rings.

“Please give me more time,” I plead.

The Voice/ says something unimaginable. “Reinforcements are coming.”

Before I can process/ the reply, the door swings open and the promised help/ comes. Laptops are opened, heads are put together. The new/ set up gives me a renewed energy.

I hear a/ second piece of good news.

“Take a rest, we’ll collate/ intel. Catch up in the morning.” [106 words]
